Farmington Youth Assistance offers free casework services for youth ages 17 and under who live or attend school in Farmington and Farmington Hills. Referrals for casework are accepted from schools, police, neighbors and concerned parents.

Typical reasons youth receive counseling include retail fraud, school and home problems, assault, alcohol or drug abuse, and violations of local ordinances.

Appointed by the Oakland County Circuit Court-Family Division, FYA’s caseworker meets with the children and teens to help turn around their negative behavior by providing advice, consultation and support. Counseling is short term and confidential.
